Words fail me, the emptiness is vast, it really has'nt sunk in yet, and although i do not want to accept the loss of my mother, i know i will have to in time. I have composed a short poem this evening, in the hope of helping others to understand a little of what, and how i am feeling.
Packet of sunshine
You are the sun that rises in the morning,
You are the light that guides me clear,
You are the mist upon my horizon,
It’s only your voice I long to hear.
You fill my heart with comfort,
Your strength in me goes on,
You are the rainbow in our heaven,
You are the notes that make the song.
Your love and kindness fills the air,
Whenever you’re around,
And I listen now with great intent,
But can not hear a sound.
You are and always will be,
Our packet of ‘Sunshine’,
To brighten any dreary day,
You are my hero of all time.
Believing you will never be,
Far away from me,
I close my eyes,
Look to the stars,
And that is where you’ll be.
I thank you for your warmth and care,
Give praise for who you are,
I celebrate your life today,
I Know you will be there.

3rd june: I would also like to add my sincere thanks to all the kind people who have sent cards, flowers, donations to the Paramedic training cause, and various help and support we have all had as a family since mums passing, from family here and abroad, friends, and all. Thanks to those who attended the church service to celebrate my mums life, i pray so hard that the pain will ease in time slightly, and that i will be able to accept what has happened. I still can not take it in, my heart is broken, and my strength weak, but mum will live on in all of us, it was a honour to be her daughter, and i am proud, so very proud of my dear mum, my rainbow in the sky, the stars at night, and my sunshine in the day. I love you mum, and miss you terribly.
