For the second year running, The Honest John Free House handed over proceeds of its monthly quiz night to the annual flower festival as they aim to go for gold in the region.

“We have spent the last two years supporting Chatteris in Bloom and think it is a great cause,” organisers Chris and Julie Pope said. “So many people give up their free time to make it happen and it really brightens the town.

The quizzes have raised more than £5,000 for local causes over the past four years.

Mr and Mrs Pope added: “We enjoy compiling the quizzes, they are fun to put together and it makes for a great night out.”
