There was a mass splash of color when youngsters had the chance to learn about Andy Warhol and Roy Lichenstein with a class session on pop art.
Kingsfield primary children in Chatteris enjoyed a visit from a local auctioneer who talked about pieces of pop art which he brought in.
Students in Year 5 are currently learning about the pop art genre and have not only been learning about relevant artists but have also drawn self-portraits in the style of Andy Warhol using sketching and colour matching skills to create different effects.
Mr Palmer, who works locally as an auctioneer, brought in his collection of Andy Warhol prints for the children to look at which included a print of Marilyn Monroe and a Cambell’s Soup print.
He also answered their questions about pieces of art that he has bought and sold.
The students will now use the ideas to create their own contemporary prints using modern day objects.
