Body of woman, 23, found on the railway line near Ely - British Transport Police believe she was struck by train

A 23-year-old woman has sadly died after her body was discovered on the railway close to Dimmocks Cote crossing, near to Ely in Cambridgeshire.

Officers were called just after 6am this morning and attended alongside the East of England Ambulance Service. Specialist officers are providing support to the family.

Her injuries are consistent with being struck by a train.

This incident is not being treated as suspicious and file will be prepared for the coroner.
