Queensgate Shopping Centre’s late night shopping kicked into full swing with 15 year old singer and song writer Bailey McConnell.

He performed live in front of hundreds of screaming fans.

The event, Queensgate #L8, included a steel band, stilt walker and hundreds of giveaways.

From 3pm, entertainment began while fans of the Britain’s Got Talent youngster started queuing from as early as noon – nearly seven hours before his performance. Over 500 customers watched Bailey as he sang four songs including a cover of Sam Smith’s ‘Stay with Me’ plus answered questions from the crowd.

Bailey said: “I am completely overwhelmed by the response from Peterborough’s fans.

“This was my first performance outside of Milton Keynes – my home town – since I came out of the show and it has been the best.

“Thank you to all those that supported me and especially Queensgate for giving me the chance to meet my fans; I hope to come back again soon.”

Friday also launched the Centre’s new ‘Happy Hour’ where between 7pm and 8pm shoppers can receive exclusive discounts from selected retailers every Thursday and Friday throughout July.
