Archant

Owner: LVC Ltd. Designer: Brand Associates, March. Builder: Eles Developments Ltd, Whittlesey.

JUDGES considered that the dwelling was designed to a very high standard and complemented the West End conservation area where it is located. The use of design features and choice of materials was considered exceptional.

The home’s design reflects that of the dwelling to the west with a scale, material and appearance appropriate to the area. Single storey elements and garage reduce the scale to reflect the existing bungalows nearby.

A spokesman for Brand Associates, which entered the home into the category, said: “This building gives a high quality home, finished and fitted out to a very high standard which respects the surrounding area.

“Existing trees on the site have been retained as they are an important feature and good for the biodiversity in the conservation area.”
