An extra £2 million will be spent on fixing potholes on Cambridgeshire’s roads after a successful Government bid.

Cambridgeshire County Council has been given an extra £1,933,337 for highway repairs, which is on top of the £1,531,297 the council was awarded in March to help repair potholes following the bad weather.

Cambridgeshire County Councillor Peter Reeve, vice-chairman of the Highways and Community Infrastructure Committee, said: “This is great news and shows that Cambridgeshire County Council made a good case to Government.

“The money will be well spent on repairing our roads and paths. Fixing potholes is a continuous job for the authority and is vital to keep Cambridgeshire moving.”
