A CAR dealer has been left devastated after “spineless” vandals caused thousands of pounds of damage by throwing paint over his vehicles.
Darren Smith, who runs T&T Vehicle Sales, in Whittlesey, said he was sickened to find his valuable cars smeared in pink paint and scratched with keys.
He has released CCTV which shows a man and a woman creeping onto his forecourt, in Orchard Street, and hurling a tin of paint over a £21,000 BMW.
Mr Smith said: “I’m absolutely gutted because I’ve built this business up from nothing. I’ve put every penny back into it and when someone does that it just makes you sick.
“I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy. It’s just spineless. It’s like hitting someone over the back of the head without them looking.
“It can’t just have been someone passing because they had all the paint with them. Who carries a tin of pink paint around with them?
“If anybody recognises these people, please report them.”
The offenders struck at about 3.40am on Saturday, targeting cars including a BMW 118i and a BMW M3 with black and pink emulsion.
Mr Smith, who will celebrate the third anniversary of T&T Vehicle Sales in October, said damage was done to eight cars.
PC Melanie Bull, investigating, said: “The vandals caused damage which will cost the garage thousands of pounds to put right.
“I would urge anyone with information to call police.”
Anyone with any information should call PC Bull on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
