THE College of West Anglia could be in line for a government funding boost to aid its redevelopment.
The college is one of 40 education centres which have been invited to make a detailed application to the Government’s £168m College Capital Investment Fund for 2013.
One of the projects that could benefit from the funding is the £5.8m development of a new teaching block and landscaping at the Isle Campus, Wisbech.
MP Steve Barclay said: “The fact that the College of West Anglia has been selected as one of 40 education centres to benefit from the next phase of detailed bid assistance is recognition of the brilliant development of educational facilities which is currently underway at the college.
“I am sure that the assistance will enable the college to put together a robust and persuasive case for further funds from the Skills Funding Agency and I very much look forward to the outcome of the agency’s review over the coming months.
“Let’s hope it is a positive result for staff and students.”
