A dyslexia sufferer has triumphed over adversity by preparing to pass his degree from the College of West Anglia.

Thomas Ward, 22, is among students at the college in the final year of degree courses in computer science who have given others an insight into the many different projects they have developed for their course.

A dozen students are expecting their degrees this year who demonstrated their work produced during their three-year course in an exhibition in the college’s new Skyline conference centre.

Subjects, chosen by the computer science students included things like how the subjects could be taught in primary schools, artificial intelligence in the game environment, prosthetics, virtual reality technologies in the field of learning and investigating how computer software is available to help dyslexia sufferers.

Thomas, of March, triumphed in the face of adversity as he had fought to overcome dyslexia throughout primary and secondary education.

He said he had made a point of going to university and had proved himself by doing the university course at the College of West Anglia.

As a dyslexia sufferer, just like famous personalities such as Einstein, Churchill and Edison, Thomas hoped to find employment helping others.

The students held an exhibition with work demonstrated on posters and on far-reaching computer applications.
