A scheme which makes use of unwanted paint by giving it to charities and people in need won the Green Award for the second successive year.
Cambridgeshire Community Reuse and Recycling Network (CCORRN), based in March, diverts thousands of litres of paint each month from landfill.
It also promotes reuse and recycling and offers skills training to the community whilst supporting local charities, community groups and those in financial hardship to decorate, improve their buildings and make their houses into a home.
The judges said: “While having already established itself as a leading organisation in its field, this enterprise has made great strides in the last year by adopting a more business focussed approach, driving increased volume throughout and thus strengthening the sustainability of this very important service to the community and environment.”
