Businesses in Fenland can now recycle a broader range of materials.
Fenland District Council has extended its domestic recycling service to commercial customers, which means businesses can recycle all of the same products as residents in their blue bins.
It is hoped this will further reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill and help businesses comply with legislation.
Fenland’s residents recycle 51 per cent of household and compostable waste.
Councillor Peter Murphy, Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “The development of the commercial waste and recycling collection service to exactly mirror the wide range of materials collected by the household waste team provides the ideal recycling solution to businesses in Fenland.
“Whether you are at home or work you can continue to recycle in the same way knowing you are continuing to do your bit for the environment”
