One man was pulled from a car after it had entered a water filled ditch in the Fens on Thursday evening.

Firefighters were called to the B1095 at Pondersbridge and arrived to find the car in the water: they clambered in to rescue the man.

No report of the man’s condition has yet been given.

A Cambs fire spokesman said a crew from Whittlesey and another from Stanground were called to the incident at 6.43pm.

Both crews were back at base by 8.15pm.
