Just a fortnight after handling a young fox, staff at March Police Station were called upon to temporarily house a lost ferret

The ferret was on found in Broad Street, March, in the early hours and taken to the police station for its own protection and safety.

RSPCA officials were called to look after it- although the owner later turned up to claim it back.

“The ferret is quite friendly,” said a police spokesman.

As with all lost property the ferret had its own incident number – in this instance number CC-11052014-0067.
