AN inquest into the death of a 64 year-old woman struck by a freight train in Cambridgeshire has been opened and adjourned.
Rail chiefs had previously confirmed that the death of the woman who died at the Tiled House Farm Crossing, Soham, was not being treated as suspicious.
Last Thursday William Morris, the coroner for north and east Cambridgeshire, opened and adjourned the inquest into the death of Carole Sinclair-Epps who died on August 23.
Reports of a person being hit between Ely and Ipswich caused temporary closure of the line and disrupted Greater Anglia services.
The incident involving a freight train happened at around 7.50pm.
Emergency services including paramedics attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cause of death was given as multiple traumatic injuries.
