Children and their teachers turned up to school in brightly coloured costumes to celebrate World Book Day.
The event was celebrated at Leverington Primary school where children worked in individual classes to write their own book.
An assembly held at the end of the day gave pupils a chance to share their work with the whole school.
Headteacher Elaine Aldrich said: “Inspiring children to be creative is always in the forefront of Learning at Leverington Primary Academy.
“To celebrate World Book Day pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters. Each class worked on writing their own story book.”
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading.
It’s the biggest event of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in more than 100 countries.
This is the 17th year there has been a World Book Day.
