Archant

For the first time in over six years, March Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (MADAOS) will perform a written musical.

‘The Bakewell Bake Off’ is a new show from the estate of Rogers and Hammerstein; a parody of the baking competitions shown on television, it is a funny and fast-moving show full of catchy tunes and varied characters including a German transsexual, an Indian doctor and a nun.

It has been decided by the EU that only one recipe for the iconic Bakewell tart can be recognised for the ‘European Union’s Protected Geographical Indication’, and three local bakery proprietors, with seven amateur bakers, compete for that status. Who will win? Come and find out!

‘The Bakewell Bake Off’ will be performed at March Community Centre, Station Road, March, from Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27 October at 7.30pm, with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 and are available from Optima Estate Agents at 31 High Street, or online at www.madaos.org.
