At least five vehicles are thought to have been destroyed in the blaze at their Hostmoor Avenue premises.

Four fire crews are on the scene and police have thrown up an unofficial cordon to prevent onlookers getting too close to the fire.

Eye witnesses have spoken of hearing at least one explosion – thought possibly to be a fuel tank from one of the lorries parked on the site.

A Cambs police spokesman tweeted that the road had been closed and there was no through road to Hundred Road.

“Please avoid the area,” Fen Cops tweeted.

An eye witness said: “I was sat at Tesco, saw the fire engine coming past, thought id come and have a look.

“I arrived at the scene, fire fighters got out of their trucks, and I heard two large explosions which I assume are fuel tanks.

“It looks like they’re dealing with it quite well.”
