Man from Ireland charged with Ely rape

A man from Ireland has been charged with the rape of a woman in the grounds of Ely Cathedral.

Kevin Forkan, 44, from Kiltimagh, County Mayo, Republic of Ireland, has been charged with rape in connection with the incident which happened in the early hours of Monday morning (August 6).

He has been remanded by the courts to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on September 5.

Forkan appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court this morning (August 8).
