As this year’s Red Nose Day nears, the girlguides of 1st Manea Rainbows were among thousands of groups nationwide invited to dream up their own wacky fund-raising ideas in the run-up to March 15.

The group of 15 rainbows, all aged between five and seven, entertained parents and friends by singing rainbow songs.

Paula Syred, rainbow leader, said: “The girls were really excited about fund-raising and it was wonderful to see them throw themselves into rehearsing the event.

“It shows what a difference girls in guiding can make.”
