A 44 year old man appeared at court charged with making explosive substances for unlawful purposes.

Tris Jackson, of Badgeney Road, March, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court where his case was adjourned.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “Jackson has been remanded and will appear again on October 20.”

He is charged with the offence following an early morning arrest just after midnight on Sunday 8 and into the early hours of Monday 9.

Police say the time of his arrest was 12.30am.

Incident response units, ambulance, police and a fire engine, alongside bomb disposal experts, waited for around six hours before moving in to arrest the man.
