Do you recognise yourself or a family member in this school days picture from the past?

Tony King, who is pictured fourth from the left on the front row, is looking to trace any of his former classmates from this snap taken at March County Primary Boys School in Burrowmoor Road in 1950.

Tony, who is now 78, was 10-years-old and remembers having the picture taken like it was yesterday.

“They were happy days when we were young,” he said.

“I remember that we were in the classroom across the playground and it could be very cold as there was no central heating back then.

“Our teacher was Miss Green and she was a lovely lady and lived on the Wisbech Road.

“They were different days to what life is now.”

When he was 20, Tony moved to near Leighton Buzzard with his parents, where he met his wife and worked as a butchers slaughters man before moving to Milton Keynes 19 years ago.

He continued: “This picture has popped up a few times over the years and I would always reminisce and say it would be nice to get it in the Cambs Times.

“I still have relatives and friends who live in March but it must be about four or five years ago when I last visited.

“But I still consider myself a Fenman because I was born and bred there.”

If you recognise yourself or anyone else you may know, then get in touch with Tony on 01908 309587.
