A cadet corporal from the 1220 (March) squadron was given the honour of performing the Last Post on TV as part of a programme commemorating the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

Cadet Corporal Joe Goodman, 16, who won a Wing Music Competition to find the best solo buglar, closed ITV Anglia’s coverage with a moving performance.

Ten other cadets and two members of staff from the March squadron also took part in the programme.

Cpl Goodman said: “I was really nervous about playing on TV, but excited at the same time.”
