Detectives are still trying to track down the person who slashed a pregnant woman’s face in Cambridge last Thursday.
They carried out stop checks last night in Hertford Street, where Hayley Baker, 29, was attacked as she walked home at 8.30pm on December 12.
A team of officers stopped vehicles and pedestrians between 7.30pm and 9pm, asking people to think back seven days.
Detective Inspector Jamie Stenton said: “We stopped a number of vehicles and spoke to many residents in the area.
“It was a very useful exercise and we are continuing to follow up several lines of enquiry.
“We have a dedicated team working on the investigation and will continue to put extra patrols in the area.
“We would urge anyone with any information about this shocking crime to call police.”
Anyone with any information should call DI Stenton on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 08000 555111.
