CAMBRIDGESHIRE police are taking part in a national campaign to target drink drivers.

The ‘Think’ Spring drink drive campaign was launched on Friday and will run throughout March.

The drink drive campaign is being supported by a national radio and online advertising campaign,

Washroom panels and bar mats in pubs, clubs and bars will also promote the initiative.

PC Steve Gedney, casualty reduction officer. said: “This campaign is part of ongoing work to target those people who think it’s acceptable to drink and drive.

“Driving under the influence is a criminal offence for which you will be processed in the same way as any other criminal.

“The consequences of driving under the influence are a fine of up to £5,000, a minimum 12 month driving ban and a criminal record.

“Not to forget the possible fatal consequences if you are involved in a collision.”
