Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to trace in connection with a sexual assault in Peterborough.

The incident happened at about 5.30am on Sunday, August 3 as the victim was walking along Eastfield Road, at its junction with Whalley Street.

Two white men walking in the opposite direction approached the victim, who is in her 30s, and sexually assaulted her.

There was a scuffle and the men made off after a man passing in a white car stopped at the scene to offer the woman assistance.

Detectives previously appealed for the man to come forward but he has not so far.

Detective Sergeant Sharon Nicolson said: “I would urge anyone who thinks they recognise the men in these images to come forward as they could have very important information for this inquiry.”
