More than 60 jobs across East Anglia have been saved after Sun European Partners bought the Bonmarche brand from The Peacock Group in a so called “pre-pack” administration deal last month.

Peacocks staff are still waiting to hear their fate as the brand went into administration with The Peacock Group last month.

Administrators at KMPG are currently looking for a buyer.

The saved Bonmarche branches in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire are among 230 which have been chosen to remain trading nationally.

Sun European Partners has a strong presence in the retail sector with companies including Irisa Group, Jacques Vert, American Golf, SCS sofas. Lee Cooper and Scotch and Soda.

Bonmarche sells affordable women’s clothes in a wide range of sizes and is aimed a people over 50 years old.

The Peacock Group owns 611 stores and 49 concessions across the UK including in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Gorleston, Dereham, King’s Lynn, Wisbech, Thetford, Downham Market and Bury St Edmunds.

All Peacocks shops remain open as KPMG seeks to find a buyer for the business and no redundancies have been made. KPMG announced 249 redundancies at the head office in Cardiff, but kept 266 staff to work with the administrators while a buyer for the company is sought.
