Three ferrets were found abandoned in Peterborough.

THE RSPCA is hoping that three ferrets found abandoned in Peterborough can find a new home in the Fens.

Snowflake, Jasper and Noel were discovered wandering in various areas of Peterborough in separate finds over the last few weeks.

It is thought that, despite being found on different days, two of the ferrets could be brothers – as they were found in the same area and do “get on very well”.

Paul Markley, manager of the RSPCA’s Peterborough and District branch, said: “We have no idea why these three have been abandoned, and it is very sad that they were just thrown away like rubbish and left to fend for themselves.

“Fortunately they were found and are now in RSPCA care – but we would really like to find new homes for them.

“We hope that there are some people in the Peterborough and Fenland area who will respond to our appeal and offer these wonderful animals a loving new home.”

Staff say that ferrets are inquisitive and sometimes mischievous creatures, but they can make wonderful pets and are easy to handle.

The trio of ferrets are around two years old and are male. Snowflake and Jasper are cream in colour, while Noel is described as a “polecat” colour.
