The children at Thomas Eaton Primary School, in Wimblington, took part in a sponsored skipathon last November and were sponsored by their family and friends.

The total money raised was then divided, with 20 per cent being retained by the school’s parents association and the remainder donated to the British Heart Foundation.

On Wednesday, Nigel Cole from the charity visited the school assembly to receive the cheque for £315.22.

Children also received certificates for taking part - and six-year-old was presented a skipping rope for raising £55.
