Students at Neale-Wade offered extra support following death of teenager,14, described by principal Jason Wing as ‘popular and conscientious’

Students arriving at Neale-Wade Academy, March, today were provided with emergency assemblies and extra support following the death of a 14-year-old teenager on Sunday.

Officers were called at 2.42pm yesterday (Sunday) by the East Anglian ambulance service to reports of the sudden death of a teenage boy in Deerfield Road, March.

“The death is being treated as non-suspicious and has been passed to the coroner,” said the spokesman.

Principal Jason Wing said: “He was a popular, conscientious student and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”

Mr Wing said: “For all our students, staff and parents, our pastoral care team are available for counselling and support throughout the coming days in the school library and anyone affected by this tragedy is encouraged to talk about it with our specialist support team.

“We have also have additional staff from the Locality team to support our in-house team over the next few days.”
