Three more parents at Thomas Clarkson Academy are being prosecuted for failing to send their children to school.
One parent pleaded guilty and the other two were convicted in their absence when the cases were heard at King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court.
The parent who pleaded guilty was fined £170 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
The other two – parents of the same child – were each fined £400 with £150 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Thomas Clarkson Academy Principal Clare Claxton said: “Staff at Thomas Clarkson work extremely hard to help students improve their attendance and to support their parents in doing the same thing but children simply have to attend school regularly.
“Sometimes, regretfully, we have to support this tough action to get the message across in the best interests of the young people and families involved.”
