Police in King’s Lynn are appealing for information after a handbag was stolen from a car whilst a woman visited her son’s grave.

The incident took place at approximately 1.15pm on Saturday May 24 on Cemetery Drive in Gaywood when somebody smashed the window of the silver Ford Focus and removed a handbag from inside.

PC Danielle Robinson, commented: “The victim in this incident is devastated by the loss of this item, which hold great sentimental value. She is desperate to have this item, which was in a zipped compartment of the bag, returned to her. We would ask anyone with information about where the bag is or anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.”

The female victim, who was visiting her son’s grave from the Essex area, is keen to find a toy wooden soldier which was inside the bag, described as painted in blue and red and approximately two inches tall.

The soldier belonged to her son, who recently passed away, and holds great sentimental value.

The stolen bag is described as a black leather-look bag with a main top zip and two zips on the side.

It also contained a purse containing bank cards, lottery tickets and a white Samsung mobile phone.

Witnesses should contact PC Danielle Robinson at King’s Lynn Police Station on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
