An 80-year-old man has died after a head-on crash on the A1122 at Stradsett.

The accident took place at about 8.20pm last night (Friday) when two vehicles – a Honda Civic and an Audi A3 - were involved in the crash.

Emergency services including the police, ambulance and fire service went to the scene to help the drivers of both cars.

The male driver of the Honda was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn with serious injuries.

But Norfolk police confirmed that he later died in the hospital. Police have not released any further details about the man.

The female driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The road remained closed until 12.30am while investigations into the crash continued.

Firefighters from Downham Market, Methwold and Kings Lynn went to the scene of the crash.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision.
