CRICKET club stalwarts Les Mills and Pat Ringham walked five miles with one of the game’s legends on Friday - raising £1,500 for charity.
The March Town Cricket Club duo joined Sir Ian Botham - known as Beefy - for the final section of the walk at Wimpole Hall, near Cambridge.
The event was part of Beefy’s Great British Walk 2012 - his latest fundraising effort for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Les, chairman of March CC, said: “It was a cool and, at times, damp afternoon but it was great to see so many people turn up and walk with a true sporting legend.
“It was a great way to help raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to beat blood cancer.
“Through everyone’s generosity Pat and I raised over £1,500.”
Since his first walk in 1985, former England all-rounder Sir Ian has raised more than £13million for the charity.
