A bowls club will mark the opening of their green on Sunday with a fundraising drive for an air ambulance charity.

Whittlesey Manor Bowls Club, who have raised more than £2,000 for worthy causes in the past few years, is getting behind Magpas Helimedix.

The club, which has some of the best bowling facilities in the area, welcomes new members and offers free tuition and use of equipment for those wanting to experience the sport for the first time.

Club secretary Melvyn Beck said: “Bowls is regarded as the ‘Sport for All,’ one that all the family can enjoy, whatever their ages.

“Coupled with the club’s very active social calendar, that includes quizzes and barbeques, it provides the ideal opportunity for people to make new friends.”
