The Wisbech army cadet detachment is holding an open day on Saturday, September 22 to give people the chance to see what they do.

The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a national voluntary organisation sponsored by the army and provides challenging military, adventurous and community activities.

A spokesman said: “The ACF provides a wide diversity of fun and exciting opportunities and it is a gateway to recognised vocational qualifications from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to BTEC First Diplomas which can help in working and school life.

“The Army Cadet Experience follows the Army values, promote discipline and a sense of ‘right and wrong’ and social skills. Having fun is a key ingredient along with the value of friendship and community spirit.
