A QUIZ organised by Wisbech Grammar School pupils raised £750 for a guide dog charity and a Kenyan school.
The pupils are now more than half way to their target of raising £5,000 for Guide Dogs in a year.
If they achieve this the charity, which provides Guide Dogs to people who are blind or partially sighted, will allow them to name a puppy.
The pupils are also supporting the Sasenyi Primary School in Kenya, where some of them carried out community work last year.
The cash raised for Guide Dogs is being added to £1,500 netted at the harvest fair and the £717 raised on a non-uniform day.
Charities coordinator Jan Wildman said: “We had a really superb team of student helpers who worked extremely hard to set up and run the event. We are thrilled to have raised so much money.”
The Friends of Wisbech Grammar School is holding a Family Spring Extravaganza in the school’s Russell Hall on March 16 from 11am-3pm to help the pupils reach their total.
