A groundworker is about to embark on a once in a lifetime trip to Borneo to take part in a sustainable development project.

Oliver Roberts, 23, will fly out at the beginning of June and during his ten week stay will use his expertise to work on various community building projects.

He is one of a group of volunteers taking part in the project, which is run by charity Raleigh International.

He said: “It is wonderful opportunity to give something back by taking part in an overseas sustainable development project.

“I can’t believe my luck. I’ve never been anywhere like it before.”

Mr Roberts has raised about £500 from friends and family to pay for vaccinations and some of the smaller bits of kit but he needs to raise a further £500 to buy the rest of his kit for the expedition.
