Senior students at a Fenland school have been passing on their love of languages to younger pupils.

Upper sixth formers put on the 90 minute modern languages event as part of their Language Leaders qualification, a scheme which helps them learn the basics of teaching.

Boys and girls from the preparatory school, Magdalene House, were taught how to order croissants and jus d’orange, paying with plastic Euros.

They also took part in a treasure hunt, “guess the animal” blindfold game, tongue twisters and a “pin the body part” game.

Head of French Noemie Neighbour said: “We are very pleased with this event and are planning to run it again and invite other primary school pupils in the area.

“All pupils had a fantastic time and enjoyed all the games, which enabled them to practise their French and Spanish in a relaxed and exciting atmosphere.

“Moreover, it gave our older students the skills needed to plan and run a successful event for young children, and helped created links between our older and younger pupils.”
