A young businessman who took over a convenience store six months ago says it has been more difficult than he expected but he is relishing the challenge.
Jasdav Jatena, of Mepal, has been in charge of Ellingham Avenue Convenience Store in March since October and has spent £45,000 refurbishing the shop.
The 24 year-old, who studied engineering at Birmingham University, says the shop has taken over his life - he works 70 hours a week.
He said: “I left university a year ago and was given a gift by my father to get me started. When I saw the shop was for sale, I went for it.
“It has been more difficult than I expected. There is constantly something to do but you learn lots every day.
“We are open from 6am to 8pm every day and I only have two other employees so I’m here most of the time.
“I would recommend getting in to business to other people my age but only if they are prepared to make sacrifices in their social life.”
