Personal trainer Amy West donated the proceeds of her class at Westwood Junior School, March to Cancer Research UK following her friend Danny Baxter’s death last year.

The cash raised from Saturday’s (January 28) session, which was attended by 30 people, will now go towards a ball Ms West and her friend Louise McClagish are hosting at Wisbech St Mary Community Centre on February 11.

It is expected to raise £1,200.

“My friend Danny died last year from cancer, so this was something in his memory,” Ms West said. “We’re hoping to make this a regular event.”
