SPRINTING sensation Jonnie Peacock started the biggest summer of his career with victory in the BT Paralympic World Cup.

The 18-year-old, from Doddington, warmed up for London 2012 by smashing his personal best and the British record in the T44 100m.

He shaved more than a tenth of a second off his PB by clocking 11.32 in what was his first run of the summer.

Peacock, who will come up against South African Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius in London, admitted he was delighted with the result.

He said on Twitter: “11.32 into a headwind.... Couldn’t ask for more for my opener at one of my favourite events of the year.”

Peacock had his right leg amputated when he was five after contracting meningitis.
