A Sparta ABC starlet secured a perfect 10th victory last weekend.

Liam Finlay, 15, eased into double figures after a impressive display at a show in Wellingborough.

The youngster showcased some skilful set-piece moves and looked very strong in all three rounds on his way to a unanimous points decision.

Igor Mihailov was also in action but was unlucky to be on the losing side in one of the fights of the evening.

The 17-year-old went toe-to-toe in a fight described as an “all-out war,” but lost out on a points decision.

Coach Matt Lenton, who oversaw both of the fights, said: “I’m very impressed with Liam.

“He is really growing as a fighter and looks set to have a very bright future.

“I’m also really pleased with Igor, who showed great heart in what was a tough battle.”
