Chatteris Town Cricket Club

• PROMOTED Chatteris finished their season in style as a Connor Cunningham century powered them to victory over Fen rivals Wisbech II.

Matthew Parrin took four wickets for Wisbech but Cunningham struck a majestic 104 not out to guide his side to a five-wicket win.

Jamie Gollands had earlier smashed 95 as Wisbech were dismissed for 177. Skipper Ant Palmer and Anthony Bamford took three wickets apiece for Chatteris, who finished second in Cambs Senior Division Two.

• CHATTERIS toasted a derby double as their second team crushed Wisbech III by six wickets.

Mark Leach proved to be the match winner, taking 2-40 before hitting a brutal 74.

Tom Chapman (47) and Adrian Clare (37) helped Wisbech to 180-7 but Chatteris eased to victory in just 25 overs.

Wisbech Town Cricket Club

• WISBECH’S Tucker Gardner Premier Division title challenge was derailed on Saturday as batting failures saw them limp to a four-wicket defeat against Nassington.

Only the top three, Sam Albutt (25), Danny Haynes (35) and Gary Freear (35), reached double figures as Wisbech collapsed from 101-3 to 139 all out.

Skipper James Williams took three wickets in Nassington’s reply but they reached their target in the 39th over.

The defeat leaves Wisbech in third place, 39 points behind leaders Foxton - who won at St Ives on Saturday.

• A COMPOSED 77 not out from Lyndon Waters guided Wisbech II to a three-wicket win over Castor & Ailsworth II on Sunday.

Waters (2-48) and Harrison Smith (3-47) helped restrict Castor to 155-9. Waters’ knock and Paul Strickle’s 31 then saw Wisbech secure the Rutland Division Five victory with 27 balls to spare.

• WISBECH Town IV finished their season with a whimper as they crashed to a 230-run defeat against Bluntisham II.

Only Matt Dawson (19) reached double figures as Wisbech were shot out for 42 in reply to Bluntisham’s 272-5.

March Town Cricket Club

• MARCH’S five-game winning run in the Tucker Gardner Premier Division ended in defeat to mid-table rivals Godmanchester.

James Harradine top-scored with 42 as March posted 156 all out, while Aussie star Ryan Meyer followed up last weekend’s century with a golden duck.

Meyer (4-51) did impress with the ball, but Godmanchester sealed the four-wicket win in 39 overs.

• OPENER Steve Hinson crashed 86 as March II beat Fulbourn Institute to finish third in Cambs Senior Division One.

Hinson and acting captain Rob Moden (50) helped power March to 206-8 before spinner Richard Green (4-33) sealed the 39-run win with an impressive bowling performance.

• MARCH III thrashed relegated neighbours Doddington by 85 runs to secure a fourth-placed finish in Cambs Junior Division 2A.

Stuart Fox (28), Matt Hubbard (26 not out), James Beresford (25) and Daniel Woods (23) all chipped in as March were bowled out for 178.

John Palmer (4-48) and Barrie Carter (3-27) bowled well for Doddington, but they could only manage 93 all out with the bat as Hubbard (3-6) wreaked havoc.

• RICHARD Green’s five-wicket haul failed to prevent March from falling to a 42-run defeat against Nassington in Rutland Division One on Sunday.

Green (5-31) helped dismiss Nassington for 174 but March were shot out for 132 in reply, with David Hodson’s 40 the top score.

• ROB Moden’s sparkling century, Nathan Oliver’s maiden half-century and Jacob Gray’s impressive 5-31 helped March II beat Wimblington to lift the Fenland Trophy for the first time since 2007 on Sunday.

• AN unbeaten 54 from March stalwart Pat Ringham helped Cambs/Hunts Over-60s cruise into the semi-final of the Spitfire National League’s knockout bowl competition.

Wisbech players Stuart Unwin and Dave LeMoir also picked up a wicket apiece in the 101-run victory over Warwickshire. Cambs/Hunts will play Northumberland next week.
