Crosbie’s charges had 16 efforts on goal during their trip to Halstead - but they still drew a blank.

Meanwhile, the hosts pounced on their three chances to claim victory in the battle of the Thurlow Nunn First Division mid-table outfits.

Crosbie said: “We had six clear efforts in the first 15 minutes. The game should have been over and done with.

“We then made two errors and they scored both. They didn’t trouble our keeper at any other time in the first half.

“In the second half, their third goal was offside according to both sets of supporters over that side of the pitch.

“We hit the post and they cleared the ball off the line a couple of times. We had 16 efforts on goal to their three - yet we lose 3-0 and return home pointless.

“We’re still a bit subdued post Christmas but I’d be more worried if we weren’t creating chances. It will come right.”

The Hares were again forced to field a makeshift defence with Adam Sutton, Michael Anker, Marc Welcher and Josh Westley all missing.

March, who sit 12th in the league, host Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday.
