March Town United boss Paul Crosbie hopes a three week break from football will “rejuvenate” his players.

The Hares were scheduled to host Halstead Town on Saturday but the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

They have not played since they were dismantled 7-1 at Team Bury on January 18.

Crosbie said: “I think, looking at the weather forecast, postponements could become a regular occurrence.

“But there’s not much we can do about it apart from train and prepare well in the hope we play at the weekend. Hopefully the break will rejuvenate the players.

“On the positive side, it has given goalkeeper Max Flintoff another week to get closer to fitness.”

The Hares travel to seventh place Haverhill Borough, who are nine players above them in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, on Saturday.

When the sides met at the GER in December, Haverhill came away with a 2-0 win.

But Crosbie is confident he will have a strong squad to choose from, with Gary White and Lewis Cook in contention to play.

He said: “We really should have got something from that game, which is something I could say about quite a few games this season.

“Hopefully we’ll have a strong squad available and we can go there and win.”
