Fiveash beats Taylor to win March Squash Club’s Phoenix Trophy

Club captain Matt Fiveash saw off defending champion Harry Taylor to win the March Squash Tournament at Burrowmoor Road.

Fiveash beat Taylor, who had won the title was the past two years, 3-1 in a final that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. The Phoenix Trophy was presented to Fiveash by Phil Godfrey, a long standing sponsor of the main tournament.

In the plate competition, Chris Parsons beat Richard Crawford, while Dave Burton won the handicap tournament.

Andrew Osborne won the veteran’s tournament and claimed the honours in the racketball final.
