Creasey expects Wisbech Town to kick off UCL campaign with Harborough win

Wisbech Town manager Dick Creasey expects three points when they host Harborough Town in their United Counties League opener on Saturday.
The Fenmen will be missing a raft of players including Stacy Cartwright, Stuart Cobb, Nick Bishop and Neal Spafford, while Callum Reed is doubtful.
But Creasey says he would be “really surprised” if his side, which finished 10 places above Harborough last season (seventh), doesn’t get the job done.
He expects a much tougher test when Wisbech host Eynesbury Rovers on Tuesday night.
He said: “I watched Harborough play Deeping on Friday and they have not changed too much in the past year.
“We will show them as much respect as we can but I would be really surprised if we got anything less than a win.
“Eynesbury will be a different kettle of fish. They have a good squad and will give us a good test.”
New signing Josh Ford found the net but Wisbech ended their pre-season with a 5-1 loss to Spalding United on Saturday.
Creasey said: “We lost a game to a better side. I’m not sure whether 5-1 was a true reflection of the game but I haven’t shouted too much about our pre-season wins so I’m not going to make too much of the loss.
“The last six weeks have all been about what happens tomorrow.”
Creasey refuses to make bold predictions about how the Fenmen will get on this season but says he is “confident” they will do well.
He said: “I’m not so silly as to say we are going to win the league because there are some big hitters with a lot of money.
“It is a tough league and a long season but we are well prepared and I’m confident, when everybody is fit, we have a squad capable of doing well.”
