MANAGER Paul Crosbie admitted he was “bitterly disappointed” after a depleted March Town United crashed out of the First Division Knockout Cup yesterday.

The Hares managed to summon a squad of just 12 for their quarter-final trip to Great Yamouth Town, which resulted in a 3-1 victory for the hosts.

Lewis Thompson’s second-half penalty was not enough to prevent the defeat.

Availability problems also took their toll on the reserves, who were thrashed 5-0 by high-flying Witchford.

Crosbie said: “We had 17 players unavailable for both squads with injuries, work and people away. We managed to get 12 together for each team.

“We should have been two up inside five minutes. Then we conded two on the break, one of which was on the stroke of half time.

“We had eight efforts on goal in the first half and more chances in the second, but we conceded another on the break.

“I’m bitterly disappointed for the club.”
