BOSS Paul Crosbie says March Town United can send a message to the rest of the league by taking points off the top teams in their next three games.

The Hares take on fourth-placed Braintree Town Reserves at the GER on Saturday before hosting unbeaten league leaders Cambridge University Press on Tuesday. They travel to Newmarket Town, who sit second, next Saturday.

Crosbie said: “We want to pick up points against these teams to make a bit of a statement.

“We really want to test ourselves and we’re looking forward to getting a measure of where we are.”

March halted their three-game losing streak on Saturday as an own goal and a late Robbie Masters header saw them come from behind to beat Brightlingsea Regent 2-1.

“At half time I was disappointed,” said Crosbie. “We seem to have this ability to under-perform for 45 minutes. At least one half of every game we don’t do ourselves justice.

“We’ve got it in us to beat any team in this league if we work hard for the full 90 minutes.”

The Hares, who beat Braintree 3-1 away, will be without injured Aaron Bailey for Saturday’s return clash.

Crosbie said: “They were really angry when we beat them and they will come tearing back at us. If we’re not ready we’re going to find ourselves in a depressing situation.”
